JUSTINE QUART

I specialize in vérité-style, handheld cinematography—capturing the raw, unfiltered moments that bring authenticity and emotion to the screen. Whether I’m following an underdog’s journey or exploring the world through a unique lens, my goal is to create films that feel intimate, unexpected, and full of wonder.

FOUNDER & LEAD FILMMAKER

Justine Quart is both a Senior Producer and DP with a passion for telling powerful, character-driven stories that challenge perspectives and spark change.

After nearly 15 years working in top media organizations, she founded her independent practice with one vision in mind: to craft dynamic short films to shift minds, inspire and create connection. On set, she takes a collaborative, empathetic approach, working with a light footprint to allow the story to naturally unfold.

Quart brings her hard-earned expertise from the fast paced world of television and a strategic approach to story development after serving as staff for companies including ABC News, Discovery, CNN and The Economist.

A graduate of Brown University and UC Berkeley’s School of Journalism, Quart first pursued photography in the darkroom and then a masters in journalism.

Her work behind the camera has introduced her to fascinating characters. She has shot interviews with high profile tech titans including Mark Zuckerberg, Mike Krieger and Alexis Ohanian along with astronauts aboard the ISS, a team of California smokejumpers, MIT scientists, craft woodworkers, performance artists and a handful of A-list celebrities.

She was the Senior Producer for CNNGo’s first original series, Mostly Human with Laurie Segall, a six-part investigative docu-series that explored sex, love, death, and humanity – through the lens of tech.

Her dynamic approach to storytelling has been recognized and won awards (Webby Awards, Eppy, Edward R. Murrow, NABJ, and more) and written about by outlets including Variety, Indiewire, Techcrunch, Newsweek and the NY Post.

When she’s not behind the camera or in the edit bay, she can be found renovating an 1800s farmhouse in Hudson Valley or spending time with her two wild boys, husband and two rescue dogs.
